Metric Products has been in business for over 60 years. It was founded in 1947 by husband and wife Herb and Shirley Magidson.
It has grown to be an international business with facilities around the world.

The Metric Spa and Travel products are a relatively new endeavor for Metric Products.
They began when Shirley Magidson felt restricted on an airplane using the traditional flat sleep mask. She wanted the freedom of movement, which she knew, could be accomplished using the molding techniques developed by Metric over the years.

After this unique sleep mask was patented for its functionality, the R&D team quickly went to work to expand its product base. The result is a unique line of products, which are functional, beautiful, well designed and fun.

Metric’s Spa and Travel products are manufactured exclusively in Sri Lanka.
We have a wonderful team there. Metric Products Sri Lanka is a socially and environmentally conscious company.

Our factory recycles 98% of our waste products, and we stick to socially conscious hiring practices and fair wages. When the tsunami occurred in 2001, Metric Products in conjunction with the Sri Lanka Fund built the first non-government housing project, which provided new homes for 48 families. We provide English classes for the children of our employees, and are soon going to open these classes to the entire village where Metric Products is located.
